ANCIENT 82-Foot-Long ‘Lizard Fish’ Washes Up On UK Beach - I can't find a photo!

The fossilized remains of an ancient, 82-foot-long “lizard fish” has been discovered on a U.K. beach – and scientists believe it’s the largest marine reptile ever found.

The creature, known as the ichthyosaur, lived about 200 million years ago in the Triassic Sea, scientists say. Although other ichthyosaurs have turned up in the past, they lived in the Mesozoic Era, not the Triassic Period, as the newly-discovered species did.

Although the Mesozoic Era is known as “the age of dinosaurs,” the ichthyosaur didn’t fit the bill. Researchers believe the species evolved from a group of reptiles and eventually returned to the sea – much like whales, which did the same after evolving from mammals.
